Pre-draft CRZ Notification April 2010 and Discussion Paper

Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India has circulated the Discussion Paper and Pre-draft CRZ Notification and has invited suggestions and comments on the same from all the stakeholders.

Pursuant to the request of Government of Goa, Ministry of Environment and Forests has accorded a special status for Goa in order to maintain its natural, geographical and cultural diversity. However, the Government of Goa is in the process of compiling various suggestions / improvements / comments on the pre-draft Notification, which can help protect the unique diversity of Goa while protecting the traditional rights, livelihood options and traditional habitats along the coast.

Members of the Chamber are requested to kindly send in your comments / suggestions on the same to the Chamber latest by 17th May 2010 so that the same can be submitted to the Department of Science , Technology & Environment , Government of Goa by 19th May 2010.
