GCCI BULLETIN OCTOBER 2025

October 2025

October has been an eventful and inspiring month for GCCI, marked by several initiatives that reflect our core values of innovation, inclusivity, collaboration, and sustainable growth.

The highlight of the month was the Goa Developers’ Summit 2.0 (GDS 2025), organized by the GCCI IT Committee in association with the Government of Goa and key academic institutions. Held at BITS Pilani, Goa Campus, the event brought together over 1,200 participants, including developers, entrepreneurs, students, and industry leaders from across India. The Summit served as a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and showcasing emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, FinTech, and Cybersecurity. The presence of Hon’ble Ministers, Shri Rohan Khaunte and Shri Mauvin Godinho added immense value, while the enthusiastic participation of Goan youth reaffirmed our shared vision of positioning Goa as a dynamic hub for technology and innovation. Our Hon’ble CM, Dr Pramod Sawant, extended his support through a video message. The Summit truly demonstrated the power of collaboration between academia, industry, and government in shaping Goa’s digital future.

Another major highlight was GCCI’s participation in the International Purple Fest 2025, a celebration of inclusivity and accessibility. This year’s festival, held on a larger scale, spread the message of equality and empowerment across the State. The ‘Purple Economy Dialogues’ and the Conference on ‘Supported Employment for Persons with Mental Disorders’ highlighted the need to view Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) not as recipients of charity but as valuable contributors to the economy. By fostering inclusive workplaces and products, we can affirm their dignity and create new avenues for innovation and participation. GCCI remains committed to championing inclusivity within the business ecosystem of Goa.

In the area of sustainability, the GCCI Environment & Waste Management Committee in collaboration with the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB), the Goa Waste Management Corporation (GWMC) and the Royal Norwegian Consulate General, hosted a workshop and roundtable interaction with a Norwegian Delegation. The exchange of ideas and best practices in waste and water management was extremely fruitful. Norwegian companies shared advanced technologies in sludge treatment, drainage, and sustainable water systems. These discussions mark a step forward in promoting environmental innovation and building a cleaner, greener Goa.

Pratima Dhond President 2025 GCCI

On the policy front, GCCI addressed several important concerns. A letter was sent to the Union Minister for Civil Aviation requesting direct flights from Southeast Asian countries such as Singapore to Goa, highlighting how enhanced connectivity would boost tourism, trade, and cultural exchange. Similarly, GCCI appealed to the Hon’ble Minister for PWD, Shri Digambar Kamat, to expedite repairs and upgradation of the Goa–Belagavi road corridor, noting its importance for regional trade, logistics, and commuter safety.

GCCI also continued its advocacy through representations for 24-hour customs operations in view of the possible resumption of mining and sought urgent improvements in infrastructure and safety in South Goa.

It was a moment of pride and warmth to wish our Past President, Mr. Ramnath Kare, on his 91st birthday. His visionary leadership continues to inspire the GCCI family, and we wish him continued good health and happiness.

Together, these initiatives reflect GCCI’s commitment to driving an inclusive, innovative and sustainable growth for Goa.

Thank you,

Best Regards,

Pratima Dhond
