GCCI BULLETIN NOVEMBER 2025
November 2025
The rapid transformation of global industry over the past few years has made one fact abundantly clear: the future belongs to those who embrace Artificial Intelligence boldly and responsibly. As businesses across the world recalibrate their strategies, AI is now a mainstream driver of competitiveness, efficiency and innovation.
GCCI’s recent Masterclass on “Entrepreneurship in the Age of AI”, led by Harvard Summer School Instructor, Mr. Niraj Kumar and jointly hosted by GCCI and GMA, reinforced this truth. The insights shared during the workshop highlighted that AI is not just a tool but a foundational capability that will shape how enterprises communicate, negotiate, engage customers and develop products. From data-driven personalisation to AI-powered process optimisation, the message was clear: Goa’s business community must integrate AI at the core of their operations to remain future-ready.
At GCCI, we recognise that technology adoption is not an option, it is a necessity. Our focus in the year ahead will be to deepen AI literacy, support digital transformation and ensure our members have access to the training, tools and partnerships needed to thrive in this new age. With initiatives such as the GCCI–GAICoE AI masterclasses, we are taking concrete steps to position Goa as a forward-looking, innovation-driven economy.
Equally significant to the business ecosystem is the Government of India’s engagement with industry through initiatives such as the World Bank’s Business Ready (B-READY) exercise. During the interactive session hosted at GCCI, Mr. Abhishek Tripathy, IRS, explained how B-READY is designed to assess regulatory quality, ease of compliance, efficiency of public services and the overall supportiveness of the business environment.
For industry, this initiative enables a platform to highlight challenges, recommend reforms and collaborate with policymakers to build a more conducive environment for growth. For government, it offers meaningful insights into how policies perform on the ground. Such a two-way engagement ensures progress for all. GCCI is committed to facilitating these dialogues so that Goa’s business community can benefit from efficient, responsive and modern regulatory systems.
While technology and regulatory reform occupy a central place in our economic vision, we must also look at the broader diversification of Goa’s economy. Traditionally dependent on mining and tourism, the state now has the opportunity to unlock significant potential in the agriculture and logistics sectors.
Through the dedicated efforts of our GCCI Agriculture Committee, we are promoting modern agri-practices, nurturing agri-startups, enabling capacity building and aligning Goa’s farmer community with national initiatives that support income growth and market expansion. The Agri Startup Conclave 2025 and the new MoU between Goa College of Agriculture and the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad mark major steps in building a robust agri-innovation ecosystem.
At the same time, GCCI strongly believes that Goa can emerge as the logistics hub of Western India, especially for agri-exports. With expanding highway networks, the increasing capabilities of Mormugao Port and world-class cargo infrastructure at Mopa Airport, Goa is strategically placed to serve as a critical link between India and global markets.
As we look to the future, our focus remains clear: embrace technology, strengthen policy collaboration and drive diversified, sustainable growth. Together, we will ensure that Goa’s business landscape remains competitive and future-ready.
Best Regards,
Pratima Dhond
