GCCI BULLETIN JANUARY 2026

January 2026

Goa has always been celebrated as one of India’s most loved tourist destinations – known for its natural beauty, vibrant culture and welcoming spirit. At the Goa Chamber of Commerce & Industry, we believe the time has come, to further elevate this identity by positioning Goa as a global wellness destination, seamlessly blending health, sustainability, entrepreneurship and inclusive economic growth.

The successful hosting of the India International Ayurveda Wellness Expo & Summit, the very first edition held in Goa, marked an important milestone in this journey. GCCI, through its Health & Wellness Committee, was proud to be an active support partner for this landmark initiative. Ayurveda, wellness tourism, and holistic healthcare are deeply aligned with Goa’s ethos, and we see immense potential in building a robust ecosystem that attracts global visitors while creating meaningful opportunities for local entrepreneurs, practitioners and MSMEs.

Our commitment to sustainable growth is equally reflected in the strong focus we place on agriculture and agri-entrepreneurship. The Agri Startup Conclave 2025, organised by GCCI in collaboration with academic institutions, NABARD and the Government of Goa, showcased how innovation, technology and collaboration can give new wings to Goa’s agriculture sector. Through our Agriculture & Food Processing Committee, GCCI is actively supporting farmers, FPOs, and agri-startups by encouraging value addition, incubation, research tie-ups, and market access. Agriculture is not just a livelihood – it is a foundation for food security, rural prosperity and sustainable wellness.

MSMEs remain the backbone of Goa’s economy and are central to every sector we support – from wellness and agriculture to tourism, manufacturing and services. GCCI continues to work closely with policymakers, financial institutions, and industry bodies to ensure MSMEs are future-ready, competitive, and resilient. Our recognition on National Startup Day 2026 is a testament to GCCI’s sustained efforts in nurturing innovation, entrepreneurship, and enterprise-led growth across sectors.

Retail and trade play a vital connecting role in this ecosystem. Whether it is wellness products, agri-produce or MSME-led innovations, strong retail and distribution networks ensure that value reaches markets and consumers effectively. Initiatives such as Breakthrough 2026 – Preparing for the Next Era of Retail by the GCCI Retail & Wholesale Trade Committee, reflect GCCI’s commitment to equipping businesses with the tools needed to adapt, brand effectively, manage finances and embrace omnichannel opportunities.

As we move forward, GCCI remains committed to building a future-ready Goa – one that is globally admired not only as a tourist paradise, but also as a hub for wellness, sustainable agriculture, empowered MSMEs and vibrant entrepreneurship. Together, through collaboration and innovation, we can create lasting economic and social impact for Goa.

Thank you,

Regards,

Pratima Dhond
President
